About this demonstration
No. MediBasket.co.uk is a proof-of-concept built to demonstrate an online healthcare storefront and back office. Every product, price, customer and order is fictional demo data.
No. All payments run through a demo payment service that simulates a successful authorisation. No card details are transmitted or stored, and no CVV is ever requested.
Each product carries a classification. Products classified as Pharmacy Medicine or Prescription Only are listed to demonstrate how restricted lines are handled, and cannot be added to the basket or purchased in this demo.
The first time the site runs it creates its database tables and loads a demo catalogue, customers, coupons and roughly a month of historical orders so the dashboards and reports have something to show.
Delivery
Standard delivery is £3.99 and arrives in 2–4 working days. Express next-working-day delivery is £6.99. Standard delivery is free on orders over £50.
Yes. Every order has a status — Pending, Paid, Processing, Dispatched, Delivered — and a tracking number is added once it is dispatched. You can see this on the order page in your account.
This demo only models UK delivery addresses and UK postcodes.
Orders & returns
Yes — guest checkout is supported. If you use the same email address as an existing account, the order is automatically linked to it.
In this demo, order status changes are made from the admin panel. An administrator can move an order to Cancelled or Refunded, which returns the stock to inventory.
Unopened items can be returned within 28 days. This is illustrative policy text for the demo only.
Accounts & payment
Customer: demo@medibasket.co.uk / Demo123! · Administrator: admin@medibasket.co.uk / Admin123! — both are clearly marked demo credentials.
Visa/Mastercard, PayPal and Apple Pay are presented at checkout. All three are handled by the same simulated demo payment service.
Passwords are hashed with bcrypt (PHP's password_hash) before being written to the database. Please don't use a real password in a demo.
